United HealthCare Volunteer Day at Liberty August 2009
On August 6, 2009 a volunteer work team from United Healthcare rolled up their sleeves and gave Liberty a hand! One group of volunteers worked hard to clean up our store front next to Safe Haven on State Street. Not only was the store front cleaned but the volunteers created a mural (in one day) that nicely adds to the neighborhood (see picture below). Other groups worked hard pulling weeds, spreading mulch, and sweeping sidewalks; one also did yard work at our houses in the Dwight neighborhood. The volunteers worked with side by side with Liberty clients on many projects. The day-long experience gave our clients an opportunity to do their part and give back to the community. Residents in our houses were treated to ice cream sundaes by a group of volunteers.
Liberty appreciates the United Healthcare team for all their hard work. Thank you to all the volunteers that came out on August 6th. We appreciate the support we receive from the community.
If you or your company would like to volunteer at Liberty Community Services please contact John Bradley at john.bradley@libertycs.org.
